I started making things for money in 1974 when I was in art school. This helped support me. Soon people began to ask me to make things for them. I met my wife, and as an Interior Designer, she introduced me to other designers who wanted products made for their clients. As time went on , we made all sorts of things, corporate reception desks to high end elevator interiors to penthouse furniture.(1980-2003).
I enjoyed it all, but I missed the one to one relationship with the client, I didn't get to listen to the client directly, my instructions came from a designer or architect. Also the commercial construction schedules became unreasonable and didn't allow enough time to do a good job. I decided to have less employees and do more myself. I found residential work much more rewarding and decided to use my resources and talents for the residential marketplace (2004-present).
